Today Room 1 was so lucky to go to a show done by the Science in a Van! Allan and Emily were our scientists and they explained that science is one way to explain the world around us.
They came to reach us about the wonderful world of bubbles!!
We saw small bubbles! We saw big bubbles! We even saw MASSIVE bubbles!
Allan made some amazing bubbles for us and we had to sit on our bottoms and blow the bubbles up into the air! It was so much fun!
Then Allan asked the mixture expert to show themselves and Emily came up to tell us all about mixtures.
We learnt that to make a mixture you take 2 things and mix them together to make a mixture!
We learnt about making predictions: guessing what will happen.
Making an observation: watching and seeing what happens.
We also learnt that if we are wrong that's ok and we can make another prediction.
After making some predictions and observations, we 'observed' (:p) that not all things mix together and some things seperate!
Our next experiment did mix together, a little too well, and we had a reaction! It was so much fun!
Allan then took us back to the world of bubbles and we learnt what is inside a bubble!! A mixture! And the mixture is called AIR! Air is different gases mixed together :)
Thank you for coming to visit us Science in a Van! We loved learning about the world of bubbles and watching your fun experiments :)
